Okay, I don't really know the answer to that, but I can tell you what I do. I'm a family man and warehouse worker trying to make a living and find peace. I try to avoid becoming overly commercialized by society at large, instead keeping my focus inward while meeting my needs and that of my family.
My wife and I home school our seven-year-old son, keeping him somewhat isolated from the asinine behavioral issues of society as a whole. We've been told that this negatively impacts him because it takes away some element of socialization, but it seems to us that he is better able to deal with other people than I ever was at his age (or am today, even), and the distinct lack of bullies and drugs certainly makes our school a better environment in which to learn. In fact, I would dare say that his upbringing has, so far, produced a child that is nicer and more compassionate than I can ever hope to become. This all takes extra time and effort, but I feel like it is worthwhile.
When I'm not at work or home schooling, my activities range from quiet reading and reflection to playing video games. I'm a huge fan of the Fallout series, having spent countless hours reading related pages and having logged 161 hours in New Vegas alone. Civilization V is also played (and my son seems to enjoy it, too) and I recently added Skyrim to my list of top games. Occasionally I choose to watch something on TV, and when I do I tend to go the science fiction route -- Star Trek shows and film being my apparent favorites, but also enjoying others including Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars. I guess one could say that I'm not terribly picky.
So this Blog is where I share some of my perspective on things I see in the world or the happenstances of my daily life. Other pages on which I can be found are shown on my Links and Resources page, in case anyone is looking for me elsewhere.
Thanks for visiting -- I hope it was insightful.
